We are delighted to announce that Hanley St Luke's CE Primary School is now an official member of the Skills Builder Partnership.

Having successfully secured funding to take part in the Skills Builder Accelerator Programme, we will be working alongside more than 800 schools, colleges and specialist settings across the country to develop the essential skills that help young people succeed in education, employment and life.

At Hanley St Luke's, we believe that education is about much more than academic achievement. We are committed to equipping our children with the knowledge, understanding and personal qualities they need to thrive in an ever-changing world. Through our partnership with Skills Builder, we will continue to develop and celebrate the eight essential skills:

• Leadership
• Teamwork

These skills are embedded throughout our curriculum and wider school experiences. By explicitly teaching, modelling and providing opportunities to practise them every day, we help our pupils become confident, resilient and independent learners who are prepared to embrace new challenges.

Skills Builder's Universal Framework provides a clear, progressive approach to developing these essential skills from an early age. Using this framework, we can support children to recognise their strengths, set goals for improvement and understand how these skills will help them both now and in the future.

We know that these skills really matter. Research has shown that strong essential skills are linked to improved employment opportunities, higher earning potential, greater confidence in adapting to new technologies such as artificial intelligence, and increased life satisfaction. By investing in these skills today, we are helping to prepare our pupils for a successful future.

At Hanley St Luke's, we are proud to be using Skills Builder as an integral part of our curriculum. We are committed to preparing our children not only for the next stage of their education, but for their future lives as successful, adaptable and responsible members of society.
