  • Attendance Celebrations and Rewards

At Hanley St Luke's, we know that great attendance helps children to make the most of every learning opportunity. We celebrate not only excellent attendance but also effort and improvement, recognising that every step forward matters.

We love to reward our pupils for their commitment to coming to school every day, here’s how we celebrate attendance across the year:

    Weekly Celebrations

    • Dojo Points for Attendance and Punctuality – Every Friday, pupils receive Dojo points for their attendance and punctuality during the week.

    • Monday Attendance Lottery – Each Monday, all children who are in school and on time that day are entered into our Attendance Lottery! One lucky winner is drawn when we spin the prize wheel and they get to choose a special reward.

    • Weekly Celebration Assembly – During our whole-school assembly, the classes with the highest attendance are announced and awarded a trophy for their classroom door.

    Half-Termly Rewards

    • Arbor Attendance Emails – Every half term, all families receive an Arbor attendance update celebrating their child’s achievements and progress.

    • Praise Messages to Parents – We send home positive messages to recognise improvements in attendance and punctuality.

    • Winning Class Treat – The class with the best attendance over the half term celebrates with a delicious cake as a class reward!

    • 97–100% Attendance Recognition – Pupils achieving 97–100% attendance for the half term are celebrated in assembly and receive a certificate.

    End-of-Year Celebrations

    • 97–100% Attendance Certificates – Children maintaining excellent attendance across the year are recognised at our end-of-year celebration.

    • 100% Attendance Award – Pupils who achieve 100% attendance for the entire year receive a special award and recognition from the whole school community.

    Working Together

Good attendance is a team effort between home and school. By working together, we can help every child develop positive routines, confidence, a love of learning, and the best chance to succeed. Thank you for supporting your child’s attendance — every day really does make a difference!
