Mind Up
MindUp – Supporting Pupil Wellbeing
At Hanley St Luke’s, we are proud to be part of the MindUp programme — an evidence-based approach to social, emotional and mental wellbeing used in schools around the world. MindUp is designed to help children understand how their brain works and to build skills in emotional literacy, mindful awareness, resilience, optimism and compassion. Through structured lessons grounded in neuroscience, positive psychology and mindful practice, pupils learn strategies to manage their emotions, improve focus and face challenges with confidence and kindness. The programme supports our wider commitment to nurturing the mental health of every child, helping them to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Below you can watch one of our Year 6 pupils deliver a MindUp session — showcasing how our children put these wellbeing skills into practice and support one another to grow in confidence and resilience.
