    Welcome to Year 4!

Year 4 is a thrilling year filled with exciting learning opportunities, new responsibilities, and plenty of unforgettable adventures!

    ๐Ÿ“š English Adventures

Next year, our writing will be inspired by three incredible texts that are sure to capture imaginations and spark creativity:

    • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
    • How to Train Your Dragon
    • The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

These rich stories will help us explore magical worlds, build powerful vocabulary, and develop our skills as confident readers and imaginative writers.

    โœ๏ธ Our Class Bible Story

This year, our focus Bible story is Daniel and the Lion’s Den. Through Daniel’s story, we’ll reflect on courage, standing up for what’s right, and putting our trust in others — even in the face of challenges.

    ๐Ÿงช Science Experiments

Get ready to roll up your sleeves! This year, we’ll carry out some exciting (and at times slightly gross!) science experiments that will help us understand the amazing world around us — from biology to chemistry and beyond.

    ๐Ÿง  Computing, Art & DT

Year 4 offers lots of opportunities to get creative and hands-on:

    • ๐Ÿ’ป In Computing, we’ll explore the world of coding and how it powers the technology we use every day.
    • ๐ŸŽจ In Art, we’ll dive into sculpture and textiles, developing new skills and expressing ourselves in fun and creative ways.
    • ๐Ÿ”ง In DT, we’ll take on challenges involving woodwork and mechanics — designing, building, and testing structures.

    ๐ŸšŒ Trips and Experiences

We believe learning extends far beyond the classroom. Here are some exciting trips and experiences planned this year:

    • ๐ŸŒณ Tatton Park – Travel back in time and discover life on a historic estate.
    • ๐Ÿงญ Stanley Head f23rfes – Outdoor challenges, map work, and team-building in a stunning natural setting.
    • ๐Ÿ–ผ Hanley Museum – Learn about the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings as we explore our local history.

๐Ÿ”ข Year 4 Times Tables Check (MTC)

All Year 4 pupils in England will take the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) between Monday 2nd June and Friday 13th June 2025.
This quick online check helps ensure children are confident in their times tables — a crucial foundation for future maths learning.
