Change for Life Competition

Some children from our Change for Life club recently attended a festival at Excel Academy. The children took part in many different activities with other schools from the Stoke area including curling, tasks with hula hoops and goal ball.

The children also took part in an opening and closing ceremony just like the Olympics! All the children enjoyed taking part and getting to know the other pupils from different schools as well as the high school sports leaders who helped to coordinate the event.

The children all tried extremely hard and managed to complete the difficult course with determination!

Special mention to the children below w
ho achieved fantastic results out of a field of approximately 40 children:

Matthew Pegg 14th

Ayo Okuba 18th

Holly Myatt 9th

Emma Simpson 12th

A big congratulations to Matthew, Holly and Emma who have also been chosen to represent Hanley in the inter town competition at the end of April.

Cheerleading Competition

A team of year 5 and 6 children took part in a Cheerleading competition at Sneyd Green Primary school. They competed against a variety of schools from around the area. The event was judged on various criteria including balance, coordination, teamwork and smiling! Our team did really, really well and managed to achieve 2nd place in the competition, half a point off first place. So close!
