Paralympics Competition
Some of our year 5 and 6 children recently took part in a Paralympics competition at HaywoodHigh School. They were involved in sports specially adapted to cater for people with disabilities. The children played games such as Boccia, seated volleyball and curling. All their scores were added together to give a total. Our teams came third out of the seven Primary schools that took part. A great achievement!
Netball Tournament
Well done to our year 6 netball team who took part in the North Stoke netball competition at Fenton Manor Leisure Centre. There were 11 teams in the event. Here are the results:
HSL 1 StarAcademy
HSL 2 Newford Primary 1
HSL 2 St. George and St. Martins 0
HSL 3 Summerbank 0
HSL 1 Hillside 0
We won our group stage so then went through to the semi finals.
We played Carmountside. After full time the score was 2 each so we had to have a sudden death penalty shoot out. We managed to win that and go through to the final!
We played Eaton Park who were excellent competition but unfortunately we lost by 1 goal to 0. All the team showed real effort and enthusiasm, never giving up. We are very proud of their achievements. Well done!
Change for Life Festival
Some children from our Change for Life club recently took part in a festival at Excel Academy. They were involved with activities such as throwing and catching, communication games and balancing objects while completing an obstacle course! They really enjoyed their afternoon taking part in fun activities!
